Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about how we work? We believe in total transparency. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
Yes, Full House Handyman carries full general liability insurance. Every job is covered.
We charge $100 per hour for all labor, including specialized trade work. There is a two-hour minimum on all new bookings. This keeps things simple so you are working with one company and one rate regardless of the type of work. For larger projects, we provide flat-rate quotes upfront so you know the total cost before we begin.
We are based in Carlsbad and serve all of San Diego County. Our core service area covers North County coastal and inland communities including Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, and Poway. We also serve the greater San Diego metro area, Coronado, La Jolla, and communities as far north as Fallbrook. If you are outside our core area, reach out and we will let you know if we can help.
We handle all materials for most jobs, including consumables, paint, lumber, hardware, and standard fixtures. We select materials for quality, especially on items like lumber where the right pick makes a real difference. For larger purchases, we may ask for prepayment on materials before the job starts. If you have already purchased an item and need it installed, we are happy to work with what you have.
Most jobs can be scheduled within a few days. Larger projects typically book out 1-2 weeks depending on the season. If something is urgent, call us directly and we will do our best to work you in.
We do not offer gardening, landscaping, or yard maintenance services. We also do not take on work that requires a specialty contractor license, including electrical panel upgrades, gas line work, full roof replacements, HVAC system installation, and structural modifications to load-bearing walls or foundations. If your project needs one of these specialists, we are happy to point you in the right direction.
We handle fixture-level renovations: replacing faucets, sinks, toilets, vanities, light fixtures, backsplashes, cabinet hardware, and coordinating paint. If your bathroom or kitchen needs a refresh rather than a gut renovation, that is exactly what we do. For large-scale remodels that require permits, structural changes, or multi-month timelines, we recommend working with a licensed general contractor.
Our signature Full House Home Inspection is a comprehensive walk-through of your entire property across five zones: exterior and foundation, garage and mechanical, kitchen and laundry, bathrooms, and interior and attic. We check the systems that cause the most expensive damage when they fail, including plumbing shut-offs, water heater condition, caulk and sealant integrity, safety devices, and attic plumbing. You receive a detailed digital report with photos and prioritized repair recommendations so you can address small issues before they become big problems.
